I don’t exactly agree with that quote.
But I’m going to try something, so here goes.
Bad things are happen, yes, and sometimes for a reason. Do not throw them out. Live and remember them and most importantly, learn from them. Do not forget them. Take them as life lessons to use in the future. This is what experience means.
“In with the new” speaks for itself. Live for the future. You never know what’s going to happen next so open your eyes, heart and mind and prepare yourself and remember to be open and calm and for universe’s sake do not judge. As with so many things that have happened, your eyes have opened and your mind and heart is more willing to accept what you have been doing wrong and make adjustments to your mindset but for fuck’s sake do not stop.
Yes, you have learned, misjudged and changed your opinion about so many things but tumblr can only take you so far. Expand your horizons, Reach out. Learn from new platforms, find new interests, discover new passions. And do something for yourself. Learn a new language, learn how to cook, take up a sport, make new friends, join a society just do something. You don’t know if you will regret it but that is so much better than never knowing.
And most importantly learn to love yourself.
You are the one who will be there for you when no one else is.
You are the one sitting there in the corner when you are afraid to reach out for help.
You are the one drowning in self-pity and self-hate.
You are so much more than your imperfections.
You have love inside you, and passion and curiousity and compassion and love.
You is kind. You is smart.
You is important.
And please, spend more time with your pet. Take more walks. Go cycling, walk down to that old park, drive further distances, try new foods, go out and party, just live.
otherwise you’re going to sit here long enough to see yourself die.
Thank you, 2014. You have been crazy (and not always in the good way), but you have taught me much. And damn, do I have a lot further to go.
